For this reason, replacing missing teeth is essential for maintaining oral and general health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Restoring dental aesthetics is another reason to carry out this treatment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Types of dentures:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are different types of dentures: full dentures when all teeth of one or both jaws are being replaced, and partial dentures if only a few teeth of a jaw need to be replaced. These can be fixed or removable prostheses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fixed prostheses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fixed prostheses cannot be removed by the patient. These can be:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Crowns or fixed bridges: thesecan be used to restore one or more teeth. They are cemented onto the previously ground teeth. The crowns can be made of metal ceramic or zirconium. The latter offer several advantages, such as better compatibility (biocompatibility) and aesthetics.<\/li>\n<li>Fixed prostheses on implants: The implant-supported prostheses consist of a prosthetic structure that is fastened with screws or cemented on implants.<\/li>\n<li>Hybrid prostheses on implants: a combination of fixed and removable parts of the denture. They are recommended in patients with significant bone resorption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Removable dentures<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Removable prostheses can be removed by the patient himself. They are the most commonly used option in patients who are unable to insert implants because they do not have the necessary requirements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are different types:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Partial denture: This type of denture is used to replace some teeth and is most often chosen as an immediate denture after the extraction of one or more teeth during the healing period.
